Ein kraftvoller Wanderbarsch, den beide Küsten teilen — Atlantische Strände und Flüsse sowie, auf der Pazifikseite, die Bucht von San Francisco und das Delta. Streifenbarsche bilden Schwärme an Köderfischen, fressen hart bei Nacht und in der Strömung und schlagen auf Plugs, Swimbaits und Köder gleichermaßen zu.
