De grootste Pacifische zalm en de belangrijkste doelsoort voor bootvissers in Brits-Columbia en het Pacific Northwest. Chinookzalm foerageert agressief rond getijdenwisselingen en langs structuur.
Cohozalm
Oncorhynchus kisutch
Acrobatisch en agressief: cohozalm is de zalm van de kustvisser. Ze drijven aasvis in de herfst tegen stranden en slaan toe op snel bewegend kunstaas.
Roodbaars (Sebastes)
Sebastes spp.
Tientallen soorten delen één gewoonte: structuur. Roodbaars is de betrouwbare ruggengraat van het bodemvissen in BC en perfect voor nieuwe bootvissers.
Bultrugzalm
Oncorhynchus gorbuscha
De kleinste en talrijkste Pacifische zalm, beroemd om de enorme schooling runs om het jaar. Roze zalm bijt gewillig op klein roze kunstaas en is de gemakkelijkste zalm voor beginners om vanaf de kust te vangen.
Steelhead
Oncorhynchus mykiss
De zeetrekkende vorm van regenboogforel en een van de meest gewaardeerde riviervissen van Noord-Amerika. Steelhead houdt zich in snel, gebroken water, pakt een breed scala aan gedrifte en gezwaaide aanbiedingen en vecht met lange runs en sprongen.
Sablefish
Anoplopoma fimbria
De black cod — sablefish leeft diep op de continentale helling van Alaska tot Californië en wordt gewaardeerd om het rijkste, boterachtigste vlees van de kust. Elektrische molens en deep-drop rigs maakten van deze diepwaterdelicatesse een realistisch doel.
