Thymallus arcticus
Een vis met zeilvin uit heldere, koude noordelijke rivieren en meren, beroemd om het vrij rijzen naar droge vliegen. Vlagzalm foerageert in groepen in poelen en stroomversnellingen en is een kenmerkende lichte-materiaalvis van Alaska en het hoge noorden.

Lota lota
De enige zoetwaterkabeljauw, een palingachtige, gevlekte bodemvis die midden in de winter paait en 's nachts foerageert. Kwabaal is een favoriete ijsvisdoelsoort in Alaska en noordelijke meren en wordt in de zomer overdag bijna nooit gevangen.
