Explore: Regions, Spots & Species Ranges

One map for the whole guide. Every region AnglerPlan covers is pinned at its anchor port or city; pick any species and the map lights up where it is a main target and where it is commonly caught; the Fraser River's published spots sit in their ring below Vancouver. Tap a region to jump straight to its plan, or to the tides & weather board.

What the layers show

  • • Regions. All 56 fine regions at their anchors, with the lead target species for each — the fastest way to see which water a plan can be built for.
  • • Fishing spots. Published, named public spots only — today that is the Fraser River set, drawn as one ring at the Vancouver anchor until per-spot access-point pins are published. The ring lists every spot and links to the full access notes.
  • • Species range. Choose a species and its primary range (solid dots) and common range (paler dots) light up, straight from the guide's distribution data. Occasional records are not shown — a stray catch is not a range.
  • • Winter ice belt. The regions whose lakes reliably freeze, as a soft overlay — the hard-water map behind the winter guide. A rule of thumb, never an ice report.

What this map never shows: your spots. AnglerPlan does not record or display anyone's exact private fishing spots — no community catch positions, no shared secret ledges. The pins here are region anchors and published public spots only, and that is deliberate.
