Privacy Policy
Effective November 2026
AnglerPlan (anglerplan.com) is operated by COMPUTIE ELECTRONICS LTD, based in Vancouver, Canada. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, who processes it for us, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email us at info@anglerplan.com — that is the only contact address we publish.
Your fishing spots stay private
Your catch logs and fishing journals are private by default — only you can see them. Only records you deliberately set to public appear on your public angler page. We never publish your exact fishing spots, and exact locations never appear on any public map or layer.
What we collect
We collect only what the service needs to work:
- Account data: your email address, your nickname, the preferences you choose to save (such as a home region and a saltwater or freshwater preference), and your membership tier.
- Sign-in with Google: if you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
- Your content: catch logs, fishing journals, photos you upload, techniques you save as favourites, and feedback you send about a plan.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe to the Weekly Bite Forecast, we keep your email address so we can send it to you.
- Payments: paid plans and memberships are processed by Stripe or PayPal. They handle your card details — we never see or store your full card number.
- Analytics and logs: we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful, and our hosting provider keeps basic server logs.
How we use it
We use this information to run your account, save and show your records, deliver the forecast you subscribed to, process payments, prevent abuse, and improve the site. That is all we use it for.
What we don't do
We do not sell your personal data — to anyone. AnglerPlan does not run advertising trackers: apart from the analytics described above, no advertising network tracks you here at this time.
Who processes data for us
We rely on a small set of service providers, each processing only what its job requires:
Weather information (MET Norway) and maps (OpenStreetMap) work differently: they receive only the general region you are looking at — never your name, email address, or anything about your account.
- Supabase — accounts and database (United States)
- Netlify — website hosting
- Stripe and PayPal — payment processing
- Brevo — sending email
- Google Analytics — visit statistics
Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. Google Analytics sets analytics cookies to count visits. We do not set cross-site advertising cookies.
Your choices
- View, edit or delete your catch logs and journals at any time in My Story.
- Ask us to delete your entire account and its data by emailing info@anglerplan.com.
- Unsubscribe from the forecast whenever you like — every email carries an unsubscribe link.
Children
AnglerPlan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
