Broadbanded Rockfish

Sebastes pachycephalus

The dark, thick-headed rockfish of the deeper reefs — 개볼락 (literally 'thick-headed rockfish'). It holds to rough rock and gravel on the east and south coasts and is taken from boats and open-coast rocks. Its firm head goes into the soup pot — a modest but solid member of the rockfish guild.
