How to catch them

Cover jigging Lake

Rig: Light spinning rod, 1/16-1/8 oz jig with a small soft plastic pitched tight to stumps and weed edges

Bait/lure: Small soft plastics, tube jigs

Key tip: Pitch right against cover and let it fall β€” warmouth rarely chase, they lunge from hiding.

Bait under a float Lake

Rig: Small float, split shot and a size 6-8 hook fished beside marsh weeds and logs

Bait/lure: Worms, grasshoppers

Key tip: Keep the bait close to cover in calm marsh water; a long pause often draws the strike.
